Ragworm keep surprisingly well, allowing you to take home any unused bait to use later in the week.
The easiest way to keep ragworm is to store it in small quantities, wrapped in newspaper and in a cool place, preferably a fridge. Check them daily and remove any dead ones. If you have some fresh seawater, it doesn't harm to wet the newspaper slightly.
If you have large ragworm, or want to really look after your worms, then you can wrap them individually. This will stop any dead ones causing the others to perish and will also stop them attacking each other!
We've found that, if worms are stored too cold, they can break when you touch them with warm hands, so allow them to warm slightly before use.
